Southampton based charity The Rose Road Association, which supports disabled children throughout Southampton and Hampshire has received a donation of £200 from Chatterbox to help speech and language therapy work.

Chatterbox, also a registered charity which is supported by the Express by Holiday Inn Southampton West, helps to improve facilities for children who have specific speech and language disorders attending mainstream schools.

“We are delighted to be able to provide this donation from Chatterbox our chosen charity to benefit disabled children in the area,” said Joanne Landon, General Manager the Express by Holiday Inn Southampton West.

Overview of services at Rose Road: Local services for young disabled people

Rosewood School – non-maintained school teaching children and young people with profound and multiple disabilities from Nursery age up to 19 years.

The Acorns and The Oaks Respite – providing residential short-break care facilities for children / young adults, ages ranging from 2 – 25 years.

Family Outreach – supporting children and adults aged 0-25 years to practise and learn life skills through a range of opportunities in and outside the home.

Take-A-Break Scheme which is a family-based care scheme offering short breaks for an age range of 0-18 years.

Rose Road Playscheme – provides a range of stimulating play opportunities and activities for children with disabilities and their siblings aged between 4 and 15 years, during Half Term, Easter and Christmas breaks.

Plus Rose Road provides information and support, such as a special guide and directory full of important information for parents and carers, called First Steps; it lists and describes the services available for disabled children and young people in Southampton and surrounding areas.

Volunteer Department playing a vital part by providing volunteers for all Rose Road’s work.
